Anant Singh Insists Anuj Singh Will Win, Says He Will Vacate Home

Patna, October 27: Mokama MLA Anant Singh on Tuesday reiterated his claim that Anuj Singh would win the Patna Graduate Constituency seat, even as votes were still being counted for the Bihar Legislative Council election.

Singh told reporters that he was indifferent to public perception and said that whatever he was saying was the truth. Sweets were reportedly distributed at his home before the final results were announced.

He said he continued to stand by what he had said before, and stated that the outcome would match his earlier statements about Anuj Singh's victory.

The Patna Graduate Constituency race is being watched closely. JD(U) candidate Neeraj Kumar is contesting against Anuj Singh, who is supported by Jan Suraaj. Early counting trends showed Neeraj Kumar in the lead.

Despite these trends, Singh held firm to his claim. He had openly opposed JD(U) nominee Neeraj Kumar during the polls for eight Legislative Council seats in Bihar, choosing instead to support and campaign for Anuj Singh.

The JD(U) has expelled Singh from the party for six years for taking part in activities against its official candidate. Responding to questions about this action and the notice to vacate his official residence, Singh said he was not troubled by either.

“I am not facing any problem. The letter for vacating the accommodation has been issued, and I will vacate it,” he said. He also said he was ready to accept whatever decision the party made. Singh noted that he had been given one month to vacate the official residence.

“The people are the owners, the people are God. I have received one month,” he said.

On the question of forming a new party, Singh did not make any clear announcement. With counting still in progress in the Patna Graduate Constituency, the focus remains on his claims and the outcome of the contest.
