Amrita Fadnavis Set to Attend Shivling Renovation, ASI Orders Halt to Unauthorized Work

Amrita Fadnavis is expected to grace the opening ceremony of the Shivling renovation in Lalpet on September 8, with banners and security arrangements already in place across Chandrapur. Yet, the ASI’s intervention has halted the construction that was meant to enhance the site. Inspectors reported the placement of granite slabs, cement brick walls, and a permanent shed inside the monument’s prohibited zone. The department cited Section 20(A) of the Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, warning that violations could attract up to two years imprisonment, a fine of one lakh rupees, or both, and has ordered the removal of the structures to restore the site’s original condition.
