Amit Shah Drives Policy and Security Discussions in Gujarat
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah initiated a comprehensive review of state-level protocols during his four-day Gujarat tour. On Saturday, he convened meetings with multiple departments under the Ministry of Home Affairs to align national directives with regional requirements.
The discussions were attended by top state functionaries, including Chief Minister Bhupendrasinh Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi, Chief Secretary MK Das, and Police Chief JS Malik. The gathering served as a platform to evaluate administrative efficiency and security readiness across the region.
Shah’s schedule features multiple review conferences targeting civic and law enforcement bodies. He will specifically meet with executives from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority, and the home department to streamline urban management and safety protocols.
Upcoming international events are already influencing local policy. Planners are working closely with officials to ensure Ahmedabad meets the stringent standards for the 2030 Commonwealth Games. Simultaneously, the administration is accelerating the enforcement of three new criminal codes while deploying advanced tactics against drug syndicates and cyber offenders.
Enhancing inter-departmental synergy is another focal point. Security chiefs and state officers are working to establish robust coordination mechanisms to preempt internal threats. The visit strategically overlaps with major regional festivals, providing space for both official duties and cultural observances with his family.
On November 9, the minister will shift focus to grassroots infrastructure in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat. He will inaugurate and break ground for 30 welfare and development schemes worth Rs 1,024 crore, covering residential complexes, water sanitation systems, and public utilities.
The Gujarat stop will conclude on November 11 with a traditional gathering of BJP workers and party elders at his residence to celebrate the Gujarati New Year. Post-event, Shah will travel back to Delhi to resume national responsibilities.
