Ambekar Shares RSS Growth Figures Ahead of Indore Meet
Indore, October 31: The RSS has released updated figures on its nationwide network ahead of its annual All India Executive Council meeting in Indore. The organisation now runs 1,01,151 daily shakhas, and its total activities span 1,10,849 locations.
Speaking at a press conference in Indore on Saturday, All India Publicity Chief Sunil Ambekar said the figures reflect growth achieved during the centenary year.
He said the meeting would examine the expansion in detail, with a comprehensive assessment set to be shared on its concluding day.
Ambekar explained that the daily shakha count has reached 1,01,151. When weekly shakhas and monthly milan programmes are included, the organisation's presence extends to nearly 1,10,849 locations across the country.
The annual gathering will take place from November 2 to 4 at Daily College in Indore. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, all six Sah Sarkaryavahs, senior functionaries, and representatives of 46 provinces and 11 regions are expected to attend.
The meeting will also review centenary-year programmes. The recently concluded Vijayadashami celebrations marked an important stage in these efforts. Leaders will further discuss an action plan based on the points raised in Bhagwat's Vijayadashami address.
The agenda features challenges posed by new media content, the increasing problem of drug use, outside interference in India's internal affairs, and evolving global developments.
Recalling the organisation's roots, Ambekar said Madhya Pradesh was the first region outside Maharashtra where the RSS started its work after being founded in Nagpur. He added that the state has consistently supported the organisation.
He also thanked the media for helping communicate the RSS's ideas, activities, and programmes to the public, and expressed hope for similar support in the second century.
The RSS was founded in Nagpur in 1925 by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. The organisation is marking its centenary with programmes and outreach activities across India.
