He recalled that numerous Hindu leaders, including MP Rajesh Ranjan (Pappu Yadav), regularly appear in saffron garments without facing any legal repercussions, despite accusations of disrespecting religious symbols. By contrast, a simple request for a burqa during the pilgrimage triggered a formal notice. Tyagi argued that similar objections arise across the country when Hindu sentiments are allegedly hurt, yet no action follows. He called for equal treatment under the law, insisting that the government should not impede a woman’s personal choice of clothing.
