Alternative Routes Guided for Trucks During Navratri Events
The Navratri fair at Durgadi Fort is set to draw massive crowds, prompting Thane traffic officials to publish a detailed diversion plan for heavy vehicles. From October 11 through October 20, the ban on six‑wheelers, heavy and multi‑axle trucks, and bus services will be in effect between 4 p.m. and midnight each day.
Key entry points such as Kalyan Naka, Khoni Nature Dhabba, Nevalli Naka, Shriram Chowk, Aadharbadi Chowk, Ranjanoli Naka, and Swad Naka will be closed to these vehicles. To keep the flow of traffic uninterrupted, the police have recommended specific alternative corridors.
Drivers approaching Kalyan Naka should divert to the Mumbra Bypass, proceed via Kharegaon Toll Plaza, or join the Mumbai‑Nasik Highway. Vehicles coming from Khoni Nature Dhabba may use Kalyan Fatak, travel the Badlapur‑Ambernath stretch, or connect through the Katai‑Badlapur junction. Those at Nevalli Naka are to follow the Badlapur‑Ambernath route.
Trucks normally passing through Shriram Chowk will now be guided along the Ulhasnagar‑Shahad‑Ambernath corridor. Traffic from Aadharbadi Chowk heading for Bhiwandi will take Gandhari Bridge, then move via Bapgaon and Sonale Road. Ranjanoli Naka traffic is advised to head toward Kharegaon Toll Plaza, while vehicles from Swad Naka can use Sonale Road as their exit.
The restriction excludes police, fire‑fighting, ambulance, and other critical service vehicles. Motorists are urged to follow the prescribed detours, adhere to road safety norms, and cooperate fully with traffic officials.
