Alleged 70-80 lakh bribes in veterinary officer hiring trigger ED operation

The Enforcement Directorate has intensified its inquiry into the Karnataka Public Service Commission's hiring of veterinary officers after receiving complaints of massive bribe demands. Reports suggest aspirants were asked to remit between 70 and 80 lakh rupees to secure a seat in the selection list. As part of the probe, ED officials stormed the Bangalore flat of IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar, who oversaw the examination process. Security personnel at the premises initially refused entry, but after the department was notified, the agents accessed the building. Kumar was not present, and his phone remained unreachable. The investigation now focuses on money flow, illicit transactions, and the possible collusion of other senior officials.
