Aligarh police have successfully concluded a high-intensity manhunt that began after a string of armed robberies against women. In the final confrontation near Mandoli village, two wanted criminals lost their lives while exchanging fire with security forces. The slain men, Raza Mohammad and Mubeen, had been on the run since mid-May following multiple daylight lootings. The first reported incident occurred on 17 May in Mandraak police station limits, where ten women were stripped of their valuables at gunpoint. Subsequent attacks on 21 May stretched across Gonda, Atrauli, and Chharra jurisdictions. Investigators quickly established that the same duo was responsible and launched an around-the-clock operation. Acting on specific intelligence, a police team laid a trap on 25 May. The suspects attempted to flee by ramming their vehicle into the police convoy and spraying bullets from an orchard. Two constables were wounded in the crossfire. Police returned fire, fatally injuring both criminals. They were declared dead at the hospital. SSP Neeraj Kumar Jadoun confirmed that Raza Mohammad, recently released from jail, had previously committed a rape during a Noida robbery. Mubeen, a resident of Bulandshahr, faced 27 criminal cases. The operation underscores the force’s resolve to protect vulnerable citizens from repeat offenders.
