Campus Chaos: Drunk Man and Woman Handed Over to Police at AMU

Aligarh – A disruptive incident was reported at Aligarh Muslim University on August 23 when students noticed a car parked near the vice‑chancellor’s residence with a visibly drunk man and woman inside. The woman was repeatedly punching the man, leading to a heated argument.

Students immediately surrounded the vehicle, effectively trapping it and inflicting minor damage to its side panels. One of the occupants exited the car abruptly, headed toward the campus library and then the research wing, where he was later escorted out by university staff.

According to the university’s pro‑ctor, both individuals were in an altered state due to alcohol consumption. The woman was extremely unsteady, unable to stand without assistance, and was observed vomiting in a restroom. The man also experienced vomiting and appeared ill.

The incident was reported to the nearby police station. Officers arrived, took the two intoxicated youths into custody and are currently investigating their identities, how they entered the university campus, and the precise cause of the altercation.
