Akhilesh Yadav Responsible for Azam Khan's Arrest, Says Rajbhar
Ambedkar Nagar, November 1: Uttar Pradesh minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has said that Akhilesh Yadav is responsible for the arrest of Azam Khan. Speaking to reporters, Rajbhar also commented on the KGMU conversion case, the Jauhar University controversy and remarks by Samajwadi Party leader S.T. Hasan about Lord Ram's birthplace.
On the Enforcement Directorate's action against Azam Khan, Rajbhar said the former minister was facing consequences for actions taken against others during the Samajwadi Party's time in government. He turned his attention to the Jauhar University case and said the money spent on a building constructed on government land must be properly accounted for. He also said Akhilesh Yadav, who was chief minister then, should have transferred the land in the name of a school.
Rajbhar said the High Court had directed the government to remove buildings built on public property, and the state was acting in line with that order. "What is the government's fault in this?" he asked.
Addressing Akhilesh Yadav's allegations about Azam Khan's arrest, Rajbhar said the ED might have arrested him in a case of disproportionate assets. He added that those who had indulged in looting while in power would face action, whether they were the people he named or others. He also questioned why Akhilesh Yadav was not in jail if Azam Khan and Gayatri Prajapati were in the same case.
On the KGMU conversion matter, Rajbhar said an inquiry must be carried out if people were found involved in such activities. He said strict action should follow if they were proven guilty. Criminals, he added, could emerge from any place, including villages and cities, and not just forests. He noted that when such incidents surface and are investigated, action is taken against those responsible.
Regarding S.T. Hasan's remarks about Lord Ram, Rajbhar said Hasan should have knowledge before making allegations. He claimed the world and the country already knew the truth and suggested that Hasan should study again if he was not educated. Rajbhar said people had learned about Lord Ram through the Ramayan television serial, and remarked that Hasan's education was limited to madrasa learning and Urdu.
