Akhilesh Yadav Demands Education Minister Resign Over Student Assault
After being released by Delhi police, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav turned his focus toward the central government, demanding the resignation of the Education Minister.
Yadav alleged that police forces assaulted several students during the protest near the Prime Minister’s residence, accusing authorities of targeting young demonstrators. He claimed the violence was a direct attempt to silence student grievances.
The opposition leader urged the cabinet to accept the demands of the student community and replace the Education Minister, whom he labeled as unresponsive to the nation’s educational challenges.
He further suggested that the minister’s continued tenure might be protecting concealed scandals and corruption, stating that the government appears reluctant to act against its own officials.
Yadav promised that the Samajwadi Party, along with other opposition groups, will persist in highlighting student issues and will hold the administration accountable for any future incidents.
