Airfield safety bolstered through mock bomb scenario training

Security forces at Tiruchirappalli Airport performed a mock bomb threat drill to evaluate airfield safety protocols. The Central Industrial Security Force led the exercise, supported by the Airport Authority of India, ARFF, police, bomb disposal squads and airline crews.

The training simulated the discovery of a suspicious package, prompting immediate lockdown of the terminal, evacuation of passengers, and systematic sweep of the premises by bomb experts.

All participating units demonstrated quick decision‑making, clear lines of communication and compliance with emergency guidelines. The drill reaffirms the commitment of Indian aviation authorities to maintain a high level of preparedness against terrorist threats.
