Air India Initiates Voluntary Pilot Checks After Drug Test Findings

Air India has confirmed its cooperation with the ongoing investigation and announced that it has launched a voluntary medical and drug‑screening programme for all its pilots. In a public statement, the airline reiterated that passenger safety remains its top priority and that any breach of fitness, security or compliance standards will not be tolerated. The carrier also noted that the aircraft’s pre‑flight inspection at Phuket showed no mechanical faults apart from an item already listed under the Minimum Equipment List.
