Speaking about the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, Waris Pathan said that AIMIM is prepared to join a broad coalition aimed at defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He emphasized the party’s resolve to prevent a third consecutive term for a government driven by a Hindutva agenda. While the alliance talks have not materialized, Pathan declared that AIMIM will contest the polls on its own, pledging representation, equality, and political empowerment for Muslims. He rebuked any attempts to label the party as a “B‑Team,” asserting confidence in an eventual victory.
