Internal Strife Escalates as AIADMK Leadership Reshuffles District Posts

Following the April defeat in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly polls, AIADMK’s internal cohesion crumbled. A faction led by Shanamugam and Velumani challenged Palaniswami’s authority, prompting a split in Vellore district. Palaniswami subsequently removed Shanamugam from the district secretary post and appointed Pashupati in his place. Since then, two rival camps have operated: one loyal to Shanamugam and another under the newly installed district secretary, intensifying the power struggle.
