Ahmedabad honey‑trap extortion case: 39‑year‑old arrested, Rs 1 lakh seized

In a separate investigation in Gujarat, the Local Crime Branch of Ahmedabad Police arrested a 39‑year‑old man from Thikawadi village, Botad district, for allegedly luring an elderly citizen into a honey‑trap and demanding a total of Rs 24 lakhs. Police recovered Rs 1 lakh in cash from the accused during the raid. The operation began after a complaint received on the night of 5 October, prompting senior officials to launch a targeted sweep along the SG Highway, resulting in the apprehension of the suspect near Karnavati Bridge.
