Teacher Constituency Re-Poll in Agra Peaceful, 57.16% Voting

A re-poll at three polling stations of the Agra division teacher constituency in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council concluded peacefully on Monday. Overall voter participation stood at 57.16 percent, according to figures shared by state election authorities.

The re-poll was conducted under the directions of the Election Commission of India. Authorities said the process was managed fairly and calmly at every location where voting took place.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa shared details gathered from returning officers. He said voters at all three polling stations participated with enthusiasm during the re-poll.

The highest turnout was recorded at polling station number 26, located at the Kshetra Panchayat office in Fatehabad, where 58.65 percent of voters cast ballots. Polling station number 21, at the Kshetra Panchayat office in Saiya, registered 58.23 percent turnout. Polling station number 20, in the tehsil campus at Kheragarh, saw 51.60 percent of voters participate.

The Chief Electoral Officer confirmed that the re-polling was completed smoothly at all three stations and that necessary measures were taken to maintain peace and fairness throughout the process.

The re-poll was held following serious irregularities that emerged during voting on October 23 at these three polling stations.
