Agnimitra Paul Cites Legal Docs, Demands Judicial Review of Office Action

During a media briefing in Kolkata, BJP minister Agnimitra Paul presented a set of files that she said demonstrated the illegality of the premises used by Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee for party activities.

She argued that the administration’s response was fully justified, referencing the submitted evidence and the procedural steps taken under existing statutes. "If anyone believes the decision is unfair, the proper remedy is to go before a judge," Paul said, adding that the Indian legal system treats every citizen equally.

The minister’s comments have intensified the ongoing political rivalry, with TMC leaders calling the move a politically motivated intimidation tactic, while the BJP defends it as a routine enforcement of building codes.
