Zero‑Liquid‑Discharge and Water Recycling Drive at Kachchh Copper
Water stewardship forms a core pillar of Kachchh Copper’s expansion strategy. According to the sustainability disclosure, the Mundra plant already uses almost 100 percent desalinated seawater for its processes and operates under a strict zero liquid discharge policy. This approach minimizes fresh‑water consumption and eliminates effluent release into the environment.
The company has invested in state‑of‑the‑art reverse‑osmosis and closed‑loop cooling systems, enabling near‑total water reuse. Ongoing upgrades aim to further reduce water intensity per tonne of copper produced, supporting local ecosystems and safeguarding community water supplies.
Such measures are expected to enhance the plant’s resource efficiency, meet regulatory standards and reinforce Adani’s reputation for responsible industrial operations.
