Abhijeet Dipke Detained in Delhi as Family Rushes to Hingoli
Delhi police arrested CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke on Saturday after he arrived on a flight bound for the national capital. The operation took place inside the aircraft shortly after it landed at IGI Airport, alongside co‑convener Saurav Das and spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka.
Dipke, who had traveled from Mumbai to join a protest demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, allegedly told the officers, “I came here to be arrested. Book me.”
Meanwhile, the politician’s parents, Anita and Bhagwan Dipke, received news that the founder’s grandmother had died in Hingoli. The elderly woman, residing in Santuk Pimpri, had been ill for a prolonged period due to age‑related health issues.
Immediately after the announcement, the senior couple left their residence in Sambhaji Nagar, where police have established a cordon, and headed toward Hingoli.
The pending question for observers is when Delhi authorities will permit Abhijeet Dipke to travel from the capital to his family’s location, given his ongoing detention.
