AAP leaders accuse BJP of fostering North-East hatred

Following the fatal assault on Manipuri artist Chhongtham Vikram Singh, AAP representatives have linked the tragedy to an alleged rise in hostility toward people from the North‑East.

Manish Sisodia highlighted that the victim had been living in Delhi for roughly ten years and was attacked after objecting to loud disturbances near his home. Sisodia accused the BJP of nurturing communal animosity that manifests in violent acts against migrants from the region.

Anurag Dhanda added that the perceived failure of the BJP‑led government to curb anti‑North‑East sentiment has broader societal repercussions, weakening the fabric of inter‑community harmony.

Kuldeep Kumar, a party legislator, warned that the capital’s law‑and‑order situation is deteriorating, suggesting that no one can be certain of safety anywhere in Delhi. He reiterated the call for a decisive crackdown on the perpetrators and for policies that guarantee security for all residents, irrespective of their origin.
