83 civil and police officers reassigned across Bihar districts

Patna – The Bihar state administration carried out a major re‑organisation on the night of August 29, moving a total of 83 senior officers within its civil and police services. Fifty‑six officers of the Bihar Administrative Service were shifted by the General Administration Department, while the Home Department transferred twenty‑seven officers of the Bihar Police Service.

Among the administrative postings, Rakesh Kumar is now Deputy Secretary of the Road Construction Department, Manish Kumar serves as Deputy Secretary of the General Administration Department, and Abhinav Kumar has been posted as Deputy Secretary of the Youth, Employment and Skill Development Department.

Additional assignments include Anil Kumar as Special Executive Officer in the Dairy, Fisheries & Livestock Department, Abhishek Kumar as Deputy Secretary in Urban Development & Housing, Vandana Sinha as Deputy Secretary in Arts & Culture, Suveer Ranjan as Deputy Secretary in Water Resources, and Avinash Kumar as Deputy Secretary in Revenue & Land Reforms.

District‑level responsibilities have also been redistributed. Neeraj Kumar will act as Block Development Officer for Shekhpur, Prabhat Kumar for Munger, and Shankar Sharan Omi for Purnia. Senior sub‑division officers have been named for Gopalganj, Rohtas, Saharsa and West Champaran, while other officials will serve as Sub‑Divisional Officers in Gopalganj and Rosda, Samastipur.

On the police front, Son Kumar Rai has been appointed Superintendent of Police (Administration) for Patna. Other transfers place officers such as Umeshwar Chaudhary, Premchand Singh, Polast Kumar, Sujeet Kumar and Prashant Kumar as Sub‑Divisional Police Officers in locations including Fulwarisharif, Chapra Sadar, Mahua, Vaishali, Ara Sadar and Begusarai Sadar. Further postings involve officers in Hathiua, Dhamdaha, Manjhaul, Begusarai, Samastipur Sadar, Motihari, Dumraon, Siwan, Daudnagar, and Aurangabad.

The reshuffle also includes members of the 2024 and 2025 officer batches, who have been assigned to areas such as Bajirganj, Gaya, Tripur, Supaul, Veerpur and Udakishunganj. The state government says the extensive transfer exercise will help streamline departmental workflows and improve governance across Bihar.
