Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has signaled a new era for the overlooked Trans-Yamuna region by approving 728 crore rupees in development projects during a TYADB board meeting. Representing one-third of the capital’s population, this area is set for accelerated infrastructure upgrades.
The Thursday gathering at Delhi Secretariat brought together Minister Kapil Mishra, Chairman Arvinder Singh Lovely, and board stakeholders. Gupta firmly stated no budget shortfalls would impede progress, instructing members to prioritize based on ground realities.
‘Our goal is a Trans-Yamuna so advanced that residents and visitors flock here willingly,’ she said. Criticizing past inaction that paralyzed development, she called for balanced investments in basics like roads, sewers, flood prevention, and secure pathways—not just cosmetic changes.
Pre-monsoon fixes for dilapidated roads and drainage were mandated to avert mishaps. Mishra praised the move as decisive, vowing Commonwealth Games-level infrastructure, including enhanced public facilities and tourism spots.
Lovely, appreciating the CM’s commitment, noted MLAs’ vital proposals would overhaul the landscape. This collective drive promises quick resolutions and real relief, marking a turning point for long-suffering locals.
