In a bold step towards modernizing higher education, Madhya Pradesh will introduce AI and AI-integrated Fintech certificate courses in 68 state-run colleges beginning 2026-27. Developed in collaboration with IIT Delhi, these online programs target students in conventional streams, providing them with job-ready competencies.
Spanning 55 PM Colleges of Excellence and 13 autonomous institutions, the initiative has ramped up its enrollment goal to 2,000 learners this year—double the initial target. This expansion follows promising results from the pilot phase.
Anupam Rajan, Additional Chief Secretary for Higher Education, highlighted the need to blend traditional academics with vocational training. ‘Our students deserve pathways to real-world opportunities,’ he stated, underscoring the courses’ role in enhancing employability.
Preparations are complete, with the department focusing on accessibility and quality. This development signals MP’s commitment to tech-driven education reform, potentially setting a benchmark for other states.
