Young professionals eyeing stable government careers now have a fresh pathway through the Ministry of External Affairs. The department has advertised 60 Section Officer posts to be filled on deputation in its Regional Passport Offices spread across the country. The posts are initially tenable for two years and may be extended depending on performance and organizational needs. Only officers already working in Level 8 or Level 10 of the pay matrix on a regular basis in any Central Government ministry or office can apply. They must possess sound administrative experience, particularly in policy formulation, financial management, RTI handling, and litigation support. Excellent drafting skills and the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders are also mandatory. The application window runs from 22 May to 17 July. Candidates must submit a neatly filled offline form along with supporting documents to the PSP Division at MEA headquarters. The upper age limit has been fixed at 56 years calculated as on 1 January. Selected personnel will enjoy the pay and perks associated with their current pay matrix level. This recruitment presents a unique chance for officers to broaden their professional horizons by working on passport-related services that directly impact citizens and overseas Indians.
