55,000 jobs promised as $11.5 bn greenfield aluminium plant breaks ground

During the construction phase, an estimated 35,000 workers will be employed across civil, mechanical and electrical works. Once operational, another 18,500 positions are expected in mining, alumina refining, aluminium smelting and downstream manufacturing. Ancillary sectors such as logistics, engineering services, maintenance and allied industries will generate additional indirect employment opportunities, further strengthening Odisha’s industrial ecosystem.
