Over 4.5 Lakh Rakhis Dispatched by Gujarat’s Anganwadi Network for Defence Personnel

Gandhinagar, August 25 – As part of the "Ek Rakhi Desh Ke Jawanon Ke Naam" drive, Anganwadi workers across Gujarat prepared and sent more than 4.5 lakh rakhis to troops stationed at the country’s borders. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sangvi and Women and Child Welfare Minister Dr. Manisha Vekari presented the rakhi bundles to senior officers, emphasizing the protective spirit of Raksha Bandhan. The initiative highlights the role of community volunteers in honoring the brave men and women who safeguard India’s frontiers. Soldiers from the Army, BSF, CRPF and NDRF confirmed that they are wearing the rakhis as a reminder of the nation’s sisterly affection.
