Nearly 380,000 Candidates Appear for Final Session of UP TET 2026
Saturday marked the culmination of Uttar Pradesh's Teacher Eligibility Test 2026, drawing an astonishing 378,655 candidates to 53 examination centres spread across the state, including a high‑security site in Prayagraj. The morning saw crowds gathering from as early as 6 a.m., with official entry granted between 7:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. The test itself commenced at 9:30 a.m. and concluded at 12:00 p.m., covering the primary‑level syllabus.
To safeguard the process, the administration instituted a chain of checks: admission‑card verification, biometric authentication, retina scanning, and cross‑checking of government‑issued IDs. Police forces, magistrates and senior officials were positioned at each venue, while CCTV cameras provided continuous visual oversight.
A participant from Prayagraj highlighted the thoroughness of the security measures, stating that no one was permitted to enter without completing the full verification cycle. In Maharajganj district, 20 centres managed five separate shifts, testing a total of 37,814 aspirants under the same security umbrella.
The previous two days had seen the capture of 26 fraudulent candidates – 15 on the first day and 11 on the second – all of whom were arrested for attempting to assume others' identities. Officials assured that similar vigilance would persist throughout the final day to guarantee a transparent and cheating‑free examination.
