3 Young Lives Cut Short: Deadly Truck-Bike Collision in Amethi

Uttar Pradesh's Amethi witnessed a heartbreaking road tragedy on May 15, claiming the lives of three youths in a brutal collision between a truck and their motorcycle. The accident unfolded on the busy Raebareli-Sultanpur road near Shivganj in Munshiganj police jurisdiction. According to preliminary reports, the trio was riding a bike against the flow of traffic when a high-speed truck rammed into them with devastating force. The crash left two victims dead at the site, while the survivor fought for his life with grievous wounds. Rescue teams airlifted the injured man to the nearest CHC, but his condition deteriorated rapidly. He was transferred to Sultanpur's district hospital, where doctors battled in vain to save him. All three perished, leaving a community in shock. Law enforcement acted decisively, arriving promptly to manage the chaos and recover the remains for autopsy. The truck, which had fled the scene, was tracked down and seized by pursuing officers. A case has been registered, with probes focusing on speeding, wrong-side driving, and possible driver negligence. CO Akhilesh Verma provided an official update: 'The motorcycle riders were oncoming from the wrong lane. Two fatalities occurred immediately, and the third died en route to advanced care.' As condolences pour in, this incident highlights Uttar Pradesh's alarming road safety crisis. With highways teeming with heavy vehicles, experts call for better signage, speed cameras, and awareness campaigns to curb such fatalities. The victims' kin seek accountability, hoping this loss sparks meaningful change.
