3 Subodh Singh Gangsters Caught in Karimnagar Gold Heist Case

Telangana law enforcement struck a decisive blow against organized crime with the arrest of three key operatives from the dreaded Subodh Singh syndicate, implicated in the audacious loot of a Karimnagar jewelry outlet. The incident on May 3 unfolded in broad daylight at PMJ Jewelry Shop, where gun-wielding criminals opened fire, wounding four staffers and making off with gold worth 161 tolas and diamonds totaling 112 carats. Police Commissioner Ghaus Alam of Karimnagar announced the development Thursday, disclosing that identities of 13 perpetrators have been established, and manhunts are intensifying for the remaining fugitives. At the helm is Subodh Singh, a Bihar-based gang leader serving time in Purnea prison, allegedly plotting the heist remotely from his cell. This gang's criminal footprint spans Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Uttarakhand, marked by sophisticated tactics that have long frustrated police pursuits. Telangana's encounter with them is a first, highlighting vulnerabilities in regional security. The arrested trio includes gang leader for the raid Raghunath Karmakar of Asansol, West Bengal, plus Ravish Kumar and Mahtab Khan nabbed from Bengal and Bihar. Probe details show two months of prior scouting across several districts, culminating in the Karimnagar selection for its perceived ease. After the robbery, the culprits sped away on motorcycles to Dharmapuri, dispersed into smaller units, and vanished using public transport. Direct involvement came from five robbers, backed by eight accomplices handling gear and support. Seizures include cash amounting to Rs 51,000, mobiles, SIMs, and forged IDs. Alam refused to name absconders to safeguard the investigation but assured aggressive pursuit. Teams are gearing up for a jail interrogation of the kingpin. This crackdown not only recovers leads but signals a robust response to interstate crime syndicates encroaching on Telangana.
