250 Villages Covered as Gujarat Prepares Green, Waste‑Free Welcome for Modi

Ahead of the September 8 Gujarat tour, the state has mobilised a massive cleanliness operation across 250 villages in Wadodara and Navsari. The "Swachhata Se Swagat" campaign has cleared 313 square kilometres of land, scrubbed more than 505 kilometres of roads and safely processed 1,835 metric tonnes of solid waste.

The effort does not stop at waste removal. Thousands of saplings have been planted under the banner "Ek Pedh Maa Ke Naam," creating a greener landscape around schools, Anganwadi centres, water bodies and public thoroughfares. The initiative reflects Prime Minister Modi's ongoing emphasis on the Swachh Bharat Mission and environmental protection.

Local officials, youth groups, NGOs and ordinary citizens have all taken part, forging a collective sense of ownership and ensuring the region is ready to receive the Prime Minister with a clean, verdant environment.
