24-Year-Old CISF Personnel Dies on Duty at Rawatbhatta Facility

A young CISF constable, 25, lost his life while securing the Rajasthan Nuclear Power Plant’s reactor compound in Rawatbhatta, Chittorgarh district. The guard, whose name was Pramir Sarkar, was stationed at a night‑time checkpoint outside Units 3 and 4 when a gunshot echoed through the area.

He was discovered on the ground with a fatal chest injury. Despite rapid transport to the plant’s hospital, medical teams could not revive him. His body is now in the mortuary awaiting a post‑mortem, which will be conducted after relatives travel from West Bengal.

The CISF commandant, deputy commander, and local police arrived within minutes to secure the scene. Early statements indicate the guard was carrying an INSAS rifle at the time, but investigators have not yet established whether the weapon fired was his or someone else’s.

The investigation team is collecting forensic evidence and eyewitness accounts. The official cause of death will be confirmed after the autopsy and further police inquiry.
