21‑year gap ends as UPSC revives health education officer recruitment

After a 21‑year interval, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has revived the recruitment for the Health Education Officer cadre. The screening test scheduled for Sunday in Prayagraj attracted 17,487 applicants, who were dispersed among 43 centres throughout the city.

Security measures were tightened, with CCTV monitoring, biometric verification and multiple layers of candidate screening at each location. The aim was to guarantee a calm and transparent environment for all participants.

Diwesh Yadav, an examinee, said, "My preparation is progressing well, and I expect the paper to reflect my efforts. The excitement is high because this exam has not been held since 2005."

Similarly, Bhadohi resident Shyam Maurya emphasized the rigorous checks, stating, "The arrangement is thorough, and we have traveled a great distance. Our confidence is high, and we hope our hard work finally yields a selection."

The long‑awaited recruitment is seen as a major opportunity for youth seeking a stable career in the health education sector of Uttar Pradesh.
