₹20 Lakh Valued Equipment Recovered from Arrested Mobile Tower Thief in Greater Noida
Greater Noida police announced the seizure of telecom hardware valued at approximately ₹20 lakh after the arrest of a 21‑year‑old alleged thief. The raid, carried out by the Dahiri police station on October 13, uncovered three RRUs and four Exide batteries that had been stolen from mobile towers situated in the green belts of Noida and Greater Noida.
The arrested individual, Kayyum Mansoori, allegedly colluded with fellow offenders to plan and execute the thefts. The stolen items were reportedly sold through informal channels at discounted rates, providing a steady stream of illegal income that the suspect used for personal indulgences.
The police operation was triggered by a mix of manual intelligence work and a confidential tip-off. Officers intercepted the suspect on a road leading to the village of Hazratpur and took him into custody after a brief encounter.
Charges under the relevant criminal statutes have been filed. The seized equipment has been catalogued and stored as evidence, while investigators continue to probe the broader network behind the thefts.
