1,746 Caught for Chain Pulling in Bhopal Division

In a major enforcement drive, the Bhopal railway division has caught 1,746 people misusing train alarm chains over the first four months of the year. The initiative aims to reduce delays and protect the integrity of train operations across busy routes. Railway officials report that unauthorized chain pulling creates unnecessary halts, endangers passenger safety, and results in substantial financial penalties for both travelers and the railway system. Data from the division shows consistent enforcement, with 495 cases in January, 391 in February, 420 in March, and 440 in April. Fines collected during this period reached 3.5 lakh rupees, sent directly through the judicial process. Officials highlight that these actions are part of ongoing efforts to maintain discipline and ensure smooth journeys for all passengers. The railway administration has appealed to the public to use the emergency chain only in genuine situations. Misuse not only affects time schedules but also inconveniences fellow passengers and burdens the railway with avoidable costs. Senior officials have assured that vigilance will remain high to deter further violations.
