Gujarat Government Teams Up with Ayurvedic Experts to Accelerate Rural Health

In a bid to expand the reach of Ayurveda to rural populations, Gujarat’s deputy chief minister Hars Sanghvi addressed the Vande Ayukon‑26 conference in Surat. The one‑day event, held at the Sarathana Convention Dome, saw participation from more than 1,200 Ayurvedic physicians and scholars. Sanghvi highlighted the inefficiency of prolonged ceremonial protocols and urged the community to allocate that time for substantive health dialogue. He stressed that the conference should focus on practical remedies for pressing issues, recommending a concentrate‑on‑few‑solutions approach. The minister announced that a representative panel of doctors would be seated with senior officials from relevant departments after the conclave to fast‑track the implementation of agreed measures. He also called on practitioners to set short‑term milestones and long‑term visions, emphasizing a partnership model between the government and Ayurvedic experts to fortify Gujarat’s traditional health system.
