Security Measures Tightened as Vice President Arrives for GKNY Hospital Event

Coimbatore is on high alert as Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan prepares to land in the city for the opening of the GKNY Hospital Nursing College. The Vice President will be flown in on a dedicated aircraft and will be escorted to the ceremony that commences at 5 p.m. in the Papanaikampalayam district.

Law‑enforcement agencies have mobilized a robust security framework. The city police, overseen by the commissioner, have posted additional personnel along the Vice President's route and around the venue. Red‑zone alerts have been issued for several neighborhoods, and drone operations are prohibited in these zones from Tuesday morning through Thursday morning.

The inauguration will host senior health officials, academic figures and local lawmakers. Following the event, the Vice President will travel to Coimbatore International Airport via a police‑secured convoy before departing for New Delhi. Police have reminded drivers to obey traffic signals and follow any temporary road changes that may be implemented during the high‑security operation.
