Satyanishtha Se Samriddhi: Health Ministry's Vigilance Drive 2026

New Delhi, October 26: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has launched its Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 with a focus on integrity, ethical conduct and accountability in public service. The observance began on Monday with a Satyanishtha Shapath ceremony at Kartavya Bhawan-1 in New Delhi.

JP Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, administered the integrity oath to the ministry's senior officials. Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare and AYUSH, and Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Health, were present during the event. Employees of the ministry also took part virtually from their respective offices.

The annual Vigilance Awareness Week is held in the week that includes Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary on October 31. The 2026 observance runs from October 26 to November 1 under the theme 'Satyanishtha se Samriddhi', which underscores that honesty, integrity and transparency are essential for good governance and for maintaining public confidence in institutions.

To support this theme, the Vigilance Division of the Department of Health and Family Welfare is conducting a range of activities as part of the Vigilance Awareness Campaign 2026. The campaign seeks to build awareness of vigilance among officials and staff of the ministry, its subordinate offices, institutions and organisations, and to promote ethical behaviour across the system.

The ministry's objective is to strengthen institutional accountability and to foster a work environment grounded in transparency, responsibility and observance of established rules. The integrity pledge taken during the ceremony committed officials and employees to follow the rule of law and to uphold the highest standards of honesty and transparency in performing their duties.

The pledge also highlighted the importance of working in the public interest, leading by example through personal conduct, and reporting any suspected corruption to the appropriate authorities. It stressed that government, citizens and the private sector share responsibility for addressing corruption, and called for constant vigilance in all areas of public life.

The ministry said the event once again affirmed its commitment to maintaining ethical conduct and high standards of accountability in official responsibilities. This commitment, it said, aligns with the principles of transparent, responsible and effective public administration.
