Rajendra Shukla Reviews Health Services in Three Districts

Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla on Friday reviewed health services in Jabalpur, Mandla and Narsinghpur, directing doctors to strengthen maternal and infant healthcare and ensure timely treatment for patients.

The review was held through a video conference. Shukla stressed that doctors posted in rural and remote regions must provide medical services regularly so that patients do not face delays.

During the meeting, he interacted with doctors serving under bond. He emphasised the effective implementation of maternal and child health programmes and better coordination among health workers.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that expanding healthcare services and improving their quality, especially in villages, is a government priority. He asked doctors to discharge their duties with sensitivity and dedication.

"Expanding health services, improving their quality and providing timely treatment to common citizens are among the government's priorities," he said.

Shukla also laid stress on coordinated work for programmes related to anaemia control, sickle cell disease identification and treatment, and non-communicable diseases.

He reviewed the availability of doctors at health institutions and directed officials to ensure regular attendance. The aim, he said, is to make sure patients from distant villages do not have to wait for medical assistance.

In Mandla, CMHO D.J. Mohanty briefed the Deputy Chief Minister that 67 doctors under bond service had been appointed in the district and 50 had taken charge.

Shukla held a conversation with Dr. Ashish Paras, posted at Jamthar village in Bijadandi block, and asked about the facilities at his workplace. He instructed doctors to attend their designated OPD rooms every day from 9 a.m.

He also spoke with Dr. Anju Maravi of the Majhgawan Primary Health Centre in Jabalpur and sought details on OPD services, telemedicine, medicine availability and staff status.

Officials were directed to arrange accommodation, food, drinking water, electricity and other essential facilities for doctors, to resolve their problems on priority, and to provide necessary training.

The Deputy Chief Minister said doctors deserve a better working environment so they can deliver services with full commitment. Block medical officers were also asked to monitor the functioning of health institutions regularly.

Jabalpur Collector Arun Kumar Vishwakarma, CMHO Naveen Kothari and other health officials were present at the meeting.
