Practice Rudra Mudra to Boost Energy, Digestion and Circulation

New Delhi, October 22: Mudras have long been part of yoga and Ayurvedic traditions, where they are used to balance the five elements of the body. Formed through specific positions of the fingers, these gestures are thought to influence overall well-being. The Rudra Mudra is considered one of the most powerful among them, and many people believe that regular practice supports both physical and mental health.

In yoga science, the Rudra Mudra is known for enhancing energy, mental clarity and physical strength. According to the Ministry of Ayush, it activates the Manipura chakra, which is the third of the seven principal chakras in the body. This chakra is regarded as the seat of fire and life energy.

According to Ayurvedic belief, the Rudra Mudra helps improve the body's digestive fire. Regular practice is said to offer relief from acidity, bloating and constipation, which are commonly associated with digestive imbalance.

Because it is named after Rudra, a form of Lord Shiva, the mudra is also known as the fire element mudra. The correct method involves touching the tips of the index and ring fingers to the tip of the thumb, while keeping the middle and little fingers straight.

Yoga experts point out that the Rudra Mudra may be especially useful for individuals experiencing low blood pressure, as it is believed to improve circulation. Blood pressure is directly connected to blood flow and the fire element. When the fire element is weakened, the heart must work harder to deliver blood throughout the body, and the circulation slows. The warmth generated through the thumb connection is believed to reduce narrowing of the blood vessels and encourage better blood movement.

The Rudra Mudra should be seen as a complementary natural remedy rather than a replacement for modern medical treatment in serious conditions.
