Law‑enforcement agencies in Nagaland have launched a full investigation after a cluster of ten deaths in Tuensang was linked to the ingestion of unlicensed spirits. Nine of the victims displayed symptoms such as blurred vision, severe headache, dizziness and vomiting after drinking. One case involves a self‑inflicted death and is being treated separately. Authorities are collecting liquid and tissue samples, but early burial of many victims hampers definitive toxicological conclusions.
