Mega Blood Donation Drive and Blessing Lanterns Mark BJP’s Tribute to Modi in Chandigarh

In a display of civic solidarity, the Chandigarh branch of the Bharatiya Janata Party organized a massive blood donation drive on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, September 17. The event, held at Sector‑32 Hospital, attracted hundreds of donors and was complemented by a series of “blessing lantern” ceremonies at each service booth.

Party leader Jatinder Pal Malhotra highlighted Modi’s 25‑year journey in public life, noting that the Prime Minister’s policies have lifted 25 crore Indians out of poverty and improved basic amenities across the nation. The blood drive was presented as a concrete way for citizens to contribute to the health of the country, echoing Modi’s emphasis on self‑reliance and community welfare.

In addition to the blood collection, the BJP distributed baby‑care kits to mothers of newborns, reinforcing the party’s focus on health and early childhood support. Evening activities featured the lighting of diyas, a traditional Indian practice symbolizing hope and gratitude, while fruit stalls offered fresh produce to attendees.

The party announced that the Seva Paksh campaign will run until October 17, featuring a series of service‑oriented events such as health camps, sanitation drives, and public awareness programs, all aimed at honoring the Prime Minister’s legacy through direct community impact.
