The FSSAI has opened a 60‑day window for stakeholders to submit comments on the proposed school‑food standards. The draft, prepared under the Food Safety and Standards Act of 2006 and already cleared by the central government, invites suggestions from the public, food manufacturers, school administrators and other interested parties. All feedback received before the deadline will be reviewed before the final rules are formally notified. The authority emphasises that the new limits are designed to protect children’s health by restricting foods that are excessively high in added fat, sugar or salt.
