In Unnao, local youth say the heat has intensified over the past ten days, emptying markets and forcing people indoors. Shop owners report zero footfall, while e-rickshaw operators struggle to find passengers. In Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, women entrepreneurs selling earthenware and flower vendors say their livelihoods have taken a severe hit. Authorities are watching the situation closely as the traditional nine-day heat spell known as Nautapa approaches.
