Experts have identified the sand fly, a tiny insect that thrives in mud walls, cracks, and damp environments, as a potential carrier of the Chandipur virus. The health department has launched an extensive fumigation campaign in affected villages to curb the insect's population.

Residents have been advised to maintain cleanliness around their homes, eliminate standing water, and seal cracks in walls to reduce breeding sites. Local health teams are conducting door-to-door awareness drives, distributing informational leaflets, and checking households for early signs of infection.
