Health Officials Deploy Fogging and Surveillance as Dengue Spreads in Gujarat Military Camp
With dengue infections climbing among CRPF soldiers stationed in Gujarat, health officials have escalated preventive actions around the temporary camps and the planned parade venue.
The health ministry directed that every block of the government‑run accommodation host four qualified health workers to conduct daily temperature checks, monitor water stagnation, and ensure immediate treatment for any new fever cases.
Extensive fogging and anti‑larval campaigns have been carried out across the barracks and the parade ground. These measures aim to curb the mosquito population that transmits the virus.
State health data for the 40th week of the year reveal that over 13.9 million blood samples were examined for malaria, detecting 1,401 positive cases. In parallel, more than 150,000 serum samples were screened for dengue, confirming 2,345 infections across the state.
The coordinated response underscores the government's commitment to safeguarding the health of security personnel ahead of the National Unity Day celebrations scheduled for October 31 in Ekta Nagar.
