Health Officials Urged to Launch Mosquito Control and Camps in Chengalpattu

Authorities in Chengalpattu district are facing pressure from villagers in Vinayagapuram after a wave of dengue cases hit children and a few adults. The outbreak has triggered calls for immediate mosquito‑control actions such as coordinated fogging, removal of water‑logging, and systematic inspection of homes to locate breeding zones.

Community leaders have asked the Tamil Nadu health department and Keerapakkam panchayat to organise a series of medical outreach camps, offering free screening, counseling and rapid testing for dengue symptoms.
