Foreign Tourist Group Tragedy as Romanian Woman Passes Away in Rajasthan
Jaipur, November 7 – A tragic development struck a foreign tourist convoy in Rajasthan when 70‑year‑old Romanian traveller Korina Iyakob died on Saturday after a sudden bout of chest pain and respiratory distress. Iyakob had entered India on November 4 along with 31 other international visitors.
At about 9 a.m., she experienced a sharp thoracic pain and struggled to breathe. The management of Vivana Hotel in Churi Ajitgarh, Jhunjhunu, arranged immediate transport to the nearby government medical centre in Mukundgarh.
Medical staff provided primary care but, given her deteriorating condition, she was referred to the larger government hospital in Nawalgarh. There, doctors confirmed her death.
Investigators are leaning toward a myocardial infarction as the likely cause, though final determination awaits thorough medical and forensic analysis. Police representatives, including Gopal Singh Thalor of the Mukundgarh police station and Sub‑Inspector Sugan Singh of Nawalgarh, are documenting the incident and interviewing the remaining tourists.
The Romanian embassy has been alerted, and authorities said that the deceased’s family will be facilitated with the necessary legal formalities upon their arrival in India.
