Eighteen pilgrims treated after chain‑reaction accident on national highway

Authorities in Jammu reported that the multi‑vehicle accident on the Jammu‑Srinagar National Highway injured eighteen members of the Amarnath pilgrimage convoy. The incident began when a State Road Transport Corporation bus collided with another SRTC bus, setting off a domino effect that involved a private car and a private coach. Emergency services arrived promptly, and the injured were taken to Ramban district hospital for treatment. Medical teams said the injuries are minor, and all patients are in stable condition. Traffic flow on the highway was disrupted for a short period while police secured the site and began a formal inquiry.
