In response to the escalating Ebola outbreak across parts of Africa, Andhra Pradesh has rolled out stricter surveillance at all international gateways. Medical teams have started examining travelers from Congo, Uganda and South Sudan for symptoms such as high fever, bleeding and severe fatigue. Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav announced that isolation facilities have been identified in every district and ambulance services placed on standby. The government is also working closely with port authorities in Visakhapatnam to monitor incoming ships and crews. Drawing on its COVID experience, the administration is creating a digital database to log passenger details and track them for 21 days after arrival. Hospitals have been instructed to report any suspected case within 30 minutes, triggering an automatic alert to state and central control rooms. Residents have been urged to avoid non-essential travel to affected countries and to seek immediate medical help if flu-like symptoms appear after returning.
